With its striking black-and-red design and bold Dragon logo, the Black Dragon is built to leave a lasting impression and to dominate for years. This is the cornerstone the whole Superior line was built on.
Who It Is Built For
The Black Dragon sets the standard for higher-speed players who struggle for consistent motion. Its Dragon core (2.48 RG, .054 diff, .018 MB) delivers power usually found in higher-priced balls, and the Scorch cover adds strength and control, a predictable heavy-oil read you can trust.
Balanced players stay with the Black Dragon longer than other strong balls in league play. The Scorch cover and Dragon core are built for versatility, letting you adapt your angles as the lane transitions and stay with your first ball out of the bag even on fresh oil.
Rev players who fight too much forward roll from over-shaped asymmetric cores get the answer here. The Dragon core mirrors a symmetric shape with a larger intermediate differential, so you get exceptional heavy-oil performance without losing control or predictability.
The Asymmetric Core
The Dragon Asymmetric Core is the heart of the Superior line. At 15 lb it measures 2.48 RG, .054 differential, and a .017 mass bias: a strong, early-revving asymmetric shape that delivers flagship-level power and drive.
It is engineered to solve the problem rev players have with over-shaped asymmetric cores. By mirroring the overall shape of a symmetric core while carrying a larger intermediate differential, the Dragon core gives you heavy-oil power and continuation without giving up control or predictability.
The Coverstock
Scorch is the Dragon line’s cover, and the solid formulation is its strongest, earliest read. It grabs the midlane on heavy oil and stays with a predictable, controllable shape.
At a 1500 grit sanded finish it is built to read fresh, heavier patterns with authority, tuned for consistent, predictable motion rather than simply more hook. USBC approved.
